Inter Milan fullback Maicon facing new surgery

Inter Milan fullback Douglas Maicon is to undergo ankle surgery in Brazil.

Maicon is to return to his native Brazil to undergo surgery on a knee injury, the Serie A club have announced.

The 30-year-old underwent tests on Tuesday, where damage to the cartilage in his right knee was diagnosed.

Maicon is set to be operated on by Professor Jose Luis Runco, the Brazil team's doctor.
