Inter Milan fullback Douglas Maicon denies he was late for training last week after a night of partying.

There had been reports the Brazilian arrived late for training after a night on the town.

"His desire to stay at Inter is proved by the recent contract renewal signed with the club," read a statement released by Maicon.

"We therefore invite anyone who wants to spread these false stories to look elsewhere and find another player with the same consistent performances that Maicon has had in his years in Italy and at Inter.

"These are the facts. The rest is just idle gossip."
