Inter Milan have made contact with the minders of Fiorentina fullback Juan Manuel Vargas.

The Peru international is expected to leave Florence in the summer and has attracted approaches from Liverpool and Real Madrid this month.

Inter have this week made their move and plan to make a concrete offer to Fiorentina in the coming days. A bid of €20 million plus goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano is being mentioned.

Italy U21 keeper Viviano is in co-ownership at Inter with Bologna.

Working in Inter's favour is that Vargas is reluctant to leave Italy, despite the status of clubs like Real and Liverpool.
