Inter Milan fans tell Ibrahimovic: We're good

Inter Milan fans insist they were not insulted by Zlatan Ibrahimovic over his angry gestures towards them during victory over Lazio.

The official ultras movement in the Curva Nord - where the jeers were coming from - have now released a statement on their website.

"Ibra's reaction was understandable, considering the warrior-like personality of our Number 8. It is a gesture that confirms the character of a professional who tells it like it is.

"Perhaps he will never be a 'flag' of the club, but he has certainly always given his best for the side and for this deserves our unconditional respect.

"The Curva Nord did not in any way urge its members to target our player and feels those who do that are not to be considered real fans.

"If someone belonging to the Nord jeered, then it's time for him to take a good look at himself and consider going off to be part of a different fan group.

"The Nord wishes to continue leading the unconditional support for the club colours at all times, regardless of the result.

"We are living through an age of immense sporting success and Inter's players deserve to be celebrated in every game.

"Let us not fall into the media trap that is trying to discredit us and the team, turning another triumphant season into a failure due to what happened in Europe."
