Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti is eyeing Barcelona star Samuel Eto'o. Intermediaries representing Inter have been encouraged in recent weeks over Barcelona's interest in Lyon star Karim Benzema and failed bid for Valencia's David Villa.

With Eto'o yet to open new contract talks, all signals are that Barca are preparing to replace the Cameroon ace - who has struck a stunning 21 goals in 21 games this season.

Moratti is ready to pounce, convinced that with less than 18 months to run on Eto'o's existing deal, a bid of £16 million will be enough to land the African ace.
