Tottenham will be encouraged to bid for Inter Milan midfielder Sulley Muntari.

The former Portsmouth ace will be surplus to requirements for incoming Inter coach Rafa Benitez if he manages to land his former Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano.

Telelombardia says the player to make way for Mascherano will be Muntari, who attracted enquiries from Spurs in January.

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp brought Muntari to England from Udinese when he was in charge at Fratton Park.
