Inter Milan's move for Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez will not depend on selling Wesley Sneijder.
It was claimed Inter needed the funds from Sneijder's proposed sale to Manchester United to meet City's price for Tevez.
However, Mediaset says Inter and City are now discussing a 12-month loan for Tevez with the option to sign him permanently in 12 months for a set fee.
The two clubs will be in Dublin on the weekend when negotiations over the deal will accelerate.
