Inter Milan general director Marco Fassone says the club is determined to secure goalkeeper Samir Handanovic.

The 30-year old Slovenia international is out of contract next summer but the Nerazzurri are keen to tie him down to a long-term deal in order to ward off interest from the likes of Liverpool who have been heavily linked recently.

"Handanovic's renewal is an issue that we must resolve at once," Fassone told Tuttosport.

"We need to understand what he wants. We cannot go into next season knowing that our goalkeeper's contract expires."
