Inter Milan midfielder Fredy Guarin has joined Shanghai Shenhua.

Guarin had a medical with the Chinese side in Spain yesterday ahead of the transfer which is thought to be worth around €12m.

"Shanghai Shenhua have reached an agreement with Inter for the transfer of Fredy Guarin," the club posted on its Weibo page.

"The player, a current Colombia international, has officially joined Shenhua."

Coach Gregorio Manzano also commented on the deal.

"His arrival will greatly enhance our squad for the upcoming season. We look forward to creating great chemistry between him and the team, especially his compatriot [Giovanni] Moreno to make our attack even more dangerous for the next Super League season."
