Inter Milan coach Claudio Ranieri dropped Wesley Sneijder for their 2-2 draw with Catania.
Sneijder eventually entered the pitch in the second-half.
Ranieri said: "Sneijder is a champion, so it's only natural we are called upon to talk about him all the time, but he needs to be given time. He is finding himself again and can help us in future.
"Forlan was decisive despite it being his first time playing wide left, while Milito needs to play in a position suited to his characteristics."
