Inter Milan coach Claudio Ranieri has played down talk of a move for Manchester City rebel Carlos Tevez.

Ranieri, however, is confident Inter president Massimo Moratti will support him in the January market.

"I made a joke about wanting to sign Tevez, it wasn't genuine. If we need to bring anyone in, then I'm convinced our President won't hold back. Our directors are monitoring everything."
