Inter Milan boss Jose Mourinho was delighted with his players after they fought back from 3-1 down to draw 3-3 with Roma last night.
"It was a game where one point is worth its weight in gold, because when you are losing 2-0 and then 3-1 against a top level side, it's not the same as trailing a team with no quality.
"We reacted brilliantly to going behind twice. The 3-1 was terrible, as we naively lost the ball and then Julio Baptista clearly fouled [Esteban] Cambiasso to thread through for [Matteo] Brighi. Cambiasso was naïve and too fair to stay on his feet there."
Mourinho was one of the few to consider that a foul, but he was also convinced that Mario Balotelli was fouled for the debatable penalty that made it 3-2.
"I think it was a penalty. Others can have their own opinion, but Mario was intelligent and saw the gap between two defenders, the legs cut him off, so what was he supposed to do?
"It's a penalty. In any case, I don't think we equalised because of that spot-kick, but rather the character we showed throughout the second half.
"When Roma were 3-1 up they thought it was enough to control the game and wind down the clock, but if they had taken a different approach and tried to kill off an Inter side that was almost dead, then it could have ended differently."
