Inter Milan coach Mancini plays down AZ defeat

Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini shrugged off their 4-2 defeat to AZ Alkmaar yesterday.

"We knew this was going to be a tough match and that our opponents could put us under pressure with their pace," he told Inter Channel.

"They caused us a few problems and deserved the victory. In any case, I am nonetheless very satisfied with the tough friendlies we have played this pre-season.

"We lost a few, but it is far more useful to play this kind of game than simple matches where the result is easily achieved."

New Inter signing Nelson Rivas struggled at the back and was at fault for AZ's opening goal.
