Inter Milan coach Gasperini insists no reason to change controversial system

Inter Milan boss Gian Piero Gasperini insists there's no reason to change his playing system.

Inter chief Massimo Moratti has suggested that Gasperini will change things for the Trabzonspor game on Wednesday, but the tactician is refusing to reveal what formation he'll opt for.

"We'll see," the former Genoa man stated on Tuesday afternoon. "A lot will depend on the situation and on our opponents.

"There is a chance that we could play with four at the back, but it depends - it always depends on how the opposition plays. But I think it's reductive to talk about a three or four-man defence.

"It's simplistic to put everything down to a problem of formation. What we need is to find the right balance.

"We'll take the best things we've done and try to keep them. And we'll take the mistakes we have made, some of them big mistakes, and try not to repeat them.

"The worst thing against Palermo was exposing ourselves so much and creating an imbalance, allowing them to hit us on the break.

"But there are positives too, so let's not forget about those. Still, after a game like the one against the Rosanero, there are obviously a few things that need to be corrected.

"We were undone and unbalanced, as I said, but we can fix that, and we'll do so regardless of the formation, which does affect things but is not really such a determining factor.

"Everyone has to help the defence. And I've always said that with me at the helm Inter would have to be flexible in the way they play."
