Inter Milan boss Gian Piero Gasperini is delighted with the form in training of preseason signing Diego Forlan.
Inter go into the new season with Forlan and former Lazio striker Mauro Zarate in their attack.
"Forlan has surprised us beyond all expectations," said Gasperini. "It was a shock not having him in Europe, but we would've signed him even if we'd known he was cup-tied.
"As for the three-man defence, it is what always gave me good results. I'd like for us to be allowed to play before we are criticised and ostracised for our tactics.
"President Massimo Moratti has always supported my decisions and there is absolutely no problem. I noticed at Inter that there is always controversy stirred up around everything. We need to play and get the chance to prove ourselves."
