Inter Milan are confident closing a January deal for Manchester United fullback Matteo Darmian.
Darmian is set to return to Italy at Inter on-loan in January with the view to signing permanently in June.
Inter saw the summer market shut with a deal for Stephan Lichtsteiner blocked by Juventus.
The Nerazzurri had the transfer tied up with the Swiss and his representatives, but Juve refused to do business with a direct Serie A rival.
With Juve maintaining their stand, Inter have decided to turn to Darmian to solve their right-back dilemma ahead of the winter market.
