Inter Milan chief Marco Fassone says the dismissal of Walter Mazzarri was the right decision.
Mazzarri was sacked by Inter last Friday.
"We're enthusiastic about Mancio," Fassone said.
"With Mazzarri there was a negative atmosphere which led to his dismissal, but he's still a good Coach and he'll soon find another job.
"Paying the salaries of two Coaches [Mancini and Mazzarri] weighs heavily on the balance sheet, and will affect what we do in the transfer market, but Mancini thinks our squad is one of excellent quality."
