Inter Milan chief Marco Branca has jumped to the defence of underfire right-back Douglas Maicon.
Maicon has copped great criticism in Italy and England for failing to handle Tottenham star Gareth Bale during their Champions League encounters.
But Branca insists: "It's ungenerous, because Maicon is playing for over a month with a knee injury that has not been helping him.
"He makes all the training sessions, he is sacrificing for us, he cannot do too intense a workout which is not that usual. So, for our part there is only thanks to his spirit of sacrifice."
