Inter Milan chief Marco Branca has confirmed reports they've dropped their pursuit of Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano.
Rafa Benitez would like to bring the Argentina captain to Inter, but Branca has cooled the prospect.
He said: "In the absence of serious proposals, we will stay as we are. This is a very strong squad and there's no need to work on the transfer market at all costs."
