Inter Milan chief Michael Bolingbroke insists failing to qualify for the Champions League is no disaster.
Bolingbroke says the new regime is building for the long-term, driven by the passion of Inter president Erick Thohir.
"Erick Thohir was one of the main reasons I came to Inter. He is a very dynamic entrepreneur, who with his charisma, his vision, I was fascinated and convinced to leave Manchester United for a new and fascinating adventure.
"He has a great passion, as well as Massimo Moratti: for me it's an honor to work with them and to try to put into practice their dreams.
"The club now has to focus on the medium-term objectives, including being one of the 10 best clubs in the world on the field and off the field.
"An important element of this is ongoing participation in the Champions League, but it's not everything. Obviously, we still hope to start there next year but even if the year after that nothing happens, it does not mean that our plans will go to hell."
