Inter Milan chief Piero Ausilio has no doubts about the quality of summer signing Nemanja Vidic. The former Manchester United captain has struggled for form this season.
Ausilio said: "I've known Thohir for a while now and I can confirm this. Apart from focusing on markets that might be key for the growth of the brand, nobody ever asked me anything that wasn't strictly technical.
"We always look for players that can improve Inter's quality regardless of their provenance.
"Nemanja Vidic is an example of this. He was a great operation because he arrived here intact and for free.
"He's the got a great mentality and he will show what it means to be a winner. He has been a lynchpin to a historical club like Manchester United.
"I am sure that on the market there are other solutions like him, older or younger than him.
"There are very talented players that we are following, others that are made attractive because of their expiring contracts.
"We are aware of the fact that we cannot improve only by buying 20-30m players. We've got to be realistic and we need to buy good prospects, like those of Mauro Icardi, Mateo Kovacic and Dodo."
