Inter Milan captain Javier Zanetti has slammed Wesley Sneijder's Ballon d'Or snub.
Sneijder was initially among the favourites for the prestigious individual award, but missed out on the final cut at the expense of Barcelona trio Lionel Messi, Xavi and Andres Iniesta.
"It's absurd," Zanetti said. "Wesley is a fantastic player. If we won three titles last season, it's also thanks to him.
"It would be really disappointing not to see him among the top three in the list."
