Inter Milan captain Javier Zanetti was delighted with their fight-back in victory over AS Roma in the Super Cup.
The Nerazzurri were trailing at San Siro before Goran Pandev and a Samuel Eto'o brace secured the 3-1 victory over Roma.
"Winning is always very satisfying and there was a question mark over how we'd react to the change in management," he said of new boss Rafa Benitez.
"We answered those questions and proved we are still hungry for success.
"We wish Mourinho all the best, but will prove that we can win even without him."
The Special One has now moved on to Real Madrid after securing the Treble of Scudetto, Champions League and Coppa Italia.
"Benitez and Mourinho are both excellent tacticians. Benitez asks us to push a bit further up the field and keep the tempo up, but in general very little has changed."
