Inter Milan captain Javier Zanetti became the oldest goal scorer in the Champions League with his effort in victory over Tottenham.
The captain rarely hits the back of the net, as he hadn't done so in all competition since February 2008, but in Europe that drought stretched back even further.
"My last Champions League goal was away to Sturm Graz, 12 years ago... I am happy to have netted tonight," said the man who set a new record aged 37 years and 71 days.
He opened the scoring within 68 seconds of the 4-3 victory over Tottenham, though his side was 4-0 up after 35 minutes.
"It was a great goal, but Samuel Eto'o did brilliantly to set me up and I disguised myself as Diego Milito! It was the kind of goal he usually scores.
"It was also nice to mark my 135th European game with a goal. Unfortunately there was a drop in concentration and that must not happen again, but the important thing is that we took home the points.
"We did so well for an hour and this gave us confidence, but we mustn't make these mistakes again. At least we can comment on these errors with a victory in our pockets."
