Inter Milan boss Stramaccioni cannot explain dismal Cagliari defeat

Inter Milan coach Andrea Stramaccioni was at a loss to explain their 2-0 loss to Cagliari yesterday.

Stramaccioni blamed bad luck on the dismal defeat.

“The first half was good considering the emergency situation we are in, as we created three scoring opportunities and Samir Handanovic was never tested,” said the Coach.

“The key was yet another injury in this cursed campaign, as we lost Walter Gargano. At that time I had pushed Esteban Cambiasso and Mateo Kovacic up to give us more attacking heft and Gargano was the glue. His absence made us lose something in terms of balance.

“Yuto Nagatomo then came off the bench and got injured again after three minutes, so we’ve lost another two players for Wednesday.”

He added: “Today the referee was conned by Pinilla, whereas last week with Atalanta there was nothing there at all. It really is a cursed campaign, how can you give a penalty like that?”
