Inter Milan boss Mourinho raps "strange" Ibra departure

Inter Milan coach Jose Mourinho has declared he's satisfied with the balance of his squad. "I dreamed of a more balanced Inter side and now it is," he told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

"I wanted a different defender to the ones I had, someone who could dominate the air and also play further up the field. I got Lucio.

"I wanted a midfielder of quality, like Thiago Motta, a trequartista like Aliaksandr Hleb and a striker like Diego Milito."

On the swap involving Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o, Mourinho was upbeat.

"Only a stupid Coach would be happy to lose Ibrahimovic, but only a stupid Coach would not be happy to have Eto'o. I am very pleased with his arrival.

"Do I feel betrayed by Ibra? I thought he would stay because only Real Madrid would pay such crazy money, instead Barcelona did it too.

"If as [agent Mino] Raiola said the negotiations had been going on for a year, then let us say something strange happened. If it is a recent thing, then it's fine, as he gave Inter everything he could, always.

"In fact, I think this is the transfer of the summer and a deal worth in total over £80m, as for me Eto'o is not worth a Euro less than Ibra.

"The first time we met, we argued, and I like a player who is fired up after a defeat," smiled the Special One of the Cameroon hitman.
