Inter Milan boss Jose Mourinho has told Cristiano Ronaldo he can achieve everything he wants by staying with Manchester United.

Despite Inter president Massimo Moratti being keen to land the World Player of the Year, Mourinho said: "Ronaldo is already in the history of Manchester United and Manchester United is the story of Ronaldo.

"I do not have to give him advice, but when you play for a top team and you can achieve what you want, there is no need to change."

Mourinho added: "When I was coaching in England, I wanted the Premier League to sign all the world's best players.

"Now that I'm in Italy, I want all the best to come to Serie A."
