Inter Milan boss Mourinho excited by McDonald Mariga potential
Inter Milan boss Jose Mourinho is excited about their latest signing McDonald Mariga, the former Parma midfielder.
Kenya international Mariga signed for Inter on transfer deadline day last week after a move to Manchester City collapsed.
Mourinho said: “He is faster than Obi Mikel but less complete. I cannot compare him with Vieira because he has been there and done it as a player and above all because the Frenchman has made football history.
“McDonald is only at the beginning of his career and in terms of stamina, agility and strength, he reminds me of Momo Sissoko.
“Moreover, with respect to the Juventus player, Mariga has more room for improvement because while Sissoko is already a player at a high level, McDonald is still young and can improve both technically and tactically.”
Asked if Mariga might grow big headed after his move and start driving Ferraris, Mourinho joked: “But McDonald doesn't even have a driving license!”
