Inter Milan boss Jose Mourinho has demanded a new midfield signing this month.

Roma midfielder Julio Baptista is understood to be inching closer to joining Inter.

Mourinho said: "I think about the players that I have available to me and I don't cry if someone leaves, like for example Samuel Eto'o who is at the African Cup of Nations.

"I always say the same thing: if before January 31 a player arrives who can give balance to our central midfield and allow us to rotate things a little then Okay. Otherwise, it's not a problem. Stevanovic for example has come in against Siena and done a good job."
