Inter Milan boss Leonardo was relieved after their 2-0 victory over Chievo.
Esteban Cambiasso and Douglas Maicon scored in the second half, both taking advantage of lucky ricochets.
Leonardo said, "We are still there in the Serie A table, while there is a second leg to play in the Champions League. This was a crucial step forward and I maintain my optimism.
"Chievo played well and it was tough for us to break through after those two defeats. I try to keep fear aside and not think about it. We could've taken the lead earlier, but did well to hold on to our concentration."
