Inter Milan want £5.5million from Manchester City for full-back Douglas Maicon according to Goal.com.
The English champions have reportedly made an offer for the Brazilian international but Inter have rejected their £4m proposal as they are holding out for more.
It is believed that City are prepared to meet Maicon's £100,000-a-week salary but the Nerazzurri want a bigger transfer fee for the man Roberto Mancini took to Inter from Monaco in 2006.
