Inter representative Angelo Mario, the son of president Massimo Moratti, was in Barcelona last week for talks with Barca management and also Nike officials about Ronaldinho.
Aware of Inter's sudden move, Milan sent intermediary Enzo Bronzetti to Barcelona yesterday for a round of negotiations with the club's vice-presidents, Marc Ingla and Ferran Soriano.
Bronzetti discussed Ronaldinho and Barca teammate Gianluca Zambrotta - with Barca president Joan Laporta seeking around £25 million for the pair. Milan also asked for Rafael Marquez, but received short shrift.
Another crucial meeting will be held today between Milan and Barca officials.
