INSIDER: Man Utd offered Bale €25M-a-year (net) to leave Real Madrid

Real Madrid ace Gareth Bale turned down a staggering contract offer from Manchester United, it has been revealed.

United pushed hard to convince Bale to leave Real over the summer, but the Welshman chose to stay after being convinced by Julen Lopetegui of his status in the new coach's plans.

Okdiario's chief pundit Eduardo Inda, speaking on El Chiringuito de Jugones, revealed: "At Real Madrid, Gareth Bale earns €14 million net with incentives and he was offered €25 million net per season."

It was also revealed United intimated to Real president Florentino Perez they were prepared to pay €250m for the Wales captain. But the final decision was left to Bale, who chose to stay after the first week of preseason with Lopetegui.
