INSIDER: Chelsea serious about Sarri; will pay big to get him off gardening leave

Chelsea have assured Maurizio Sarri they're willing to meet the break clause in his Napoli contract.

While Sarri has been dumped and replaced by Carlo Ancelotti, he remains contracted to Napoli and could be placed on gardening leave for the remainder of his deal.

However, RMC's director of sport, Niccolò Ceccarini, has taken to Twitter this morning to reveal Chelsea are serious about bringing him to London to succeed Antonio Conte as manager.

Ceccarini posted: "Situation Sarri is evolving: Chelsea seems willing to pay the 8 million euro clause".

Meanwhile, Sarri is angry over the way he was axed by Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis this week.

"I did not deserve to be eliminated like this by Napoli," he told Il Mattino. "In three years I improved everything at the club."
