Middlesbrough pulled out of a loan deal to bring Inter Milan's teenage striker Goran Slavkovski to Teesside.

Preliminary plans were made to sign the 18-year-old Swede following a brief trial last week, says the Evening Gazette.

But Slavkovski is carrying an ankle injury and, as he was unlikely to be challenging for a regular first team place at the Riverside, Boro have changed their minds.
