Injury crisis leaves Liverpool with only two fit midfielders

Liverpool's midfield has been hit by a massive injury crisis.

The Mirror says Henderson is the latest victim after his ankle was damaged by Kevin Nolan's nasty stamp in the West Ham game on Saturday.

And the Reds' manager Brendan Rodgers could even make an emergency foray into the transfer market when the window opens on January 1 to provide badly-needed cover.

It leaves the Reds with just two central midfielders in Lucas and Joe Allen for a run of five games in 15 days and Rodgers knows they will have to step up before he can move in the transfer window.
