Arsenal forward Theo Walcott insists that he will not push himself to return for the World Cup if it risks a relapse in his recovery from a knee ligament injury, reports BBC Sport. The 25-year-old has not played since suffering the injury in the 2-0 win over Tottenham on 4 January.
"I am not pushing myself to be fit for the World Cup or anything like that. I want to be back quickly, of course, but safely, too," he said.
"I want to try and be back for the early part of next season, that is the goal, so there will be a lot of hard work throughout the summer and during the World Cup."
