Injured Gattuso can't wait for AC Milan v Juventus

He may be out for the next six months due to his knee injury, but Gennaro Gattuso wants to be close to the action for Sunday's trip to Juventus.

Gattuso is likely to miss the remainder of the season after rupturing knee ligaments on the weekend, but his fighting words of an earlier comeback should prove inspirational to his AC Milan teammates.

Gattuso, who is awaiting surgery on December 19, attended Milan training on Thursday.

"In my entire career I had never even considered the possibility of an injury keeping me out for this long," said the midfielder.

"Since I arrived at the Milanello training ground this morning, I feel better. Today my teammates made me feel stronger."

Reflecting on the weekend clash at Juventus, Gattuso said: "I will watch the game because I want to be close to the side and charge up my teammates. Those who know me realise I am a spontaneous person and I express everything that I feel.

"It will be a tough match with Juventus, as they never give in and have great temperament, so we must rely on our technique to make it difficult for them."
