Danny Ings was in goalscoring form as the Liverpool U23 side defeated Leicester City 4-0 on Sunday.
The 24-year-old striker opened the scoring at Prenton Park within three minutes when slotting home a cross from Ben Woodburn before the provider then helped himself onto the scoresheet after a fine team move from the Reds.
Michael Beale's side were 3-0 up when captain Harry Wilson found the back of the net before he turned provider for Ovie Ejaria to head home.
All goals were score before the break with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp watching on the day after his side disposed of the reigning champions 4-1 in the Premier League.
Ings' scoring form will surely have him in the mix as Liverpool look ahead to Friday night's trip to London to take on Chelsea.
