Liverpool have been handed the green light to proceed with their pursuit of Danny Ings according to the Liverpool Echo.

With Ings' contract at Burnley set to expire at the end of June, the striker has been publicly courted by the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham.

Burnley did make a last ditch effort to keep hold of Ings recently by offering him a new contract but the 22-year old has reportedly rejected the offer and is now free to hold talks with Liverpool.

According to the report, the Reds are set to open alks with Ings this week and the transfer could well be finalized soon.
