MP & Silva has acquired the rights to the Premier League in Indonesia, New Zealand and 15 Pacific islands. The agency will distribute the rights to broadcasters in each territory, reports SportsPro. As with the other international media rights deals the Premier League has announced recently, the agreements runs for three seasons from 2013/14 to 2015/16. The Indonesian media rights, in particular, are expected to generate a significant amount.
Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore said: "We know MP & Silva well as they have acquired Premier League rights in the past and we are pleased to be working with them again."
Andrea Radrizzani, MP & Silva's chief executive, said he was "very excited" by the deal, adding: "We are glad that the Premier League recognises our leadership in the market and we are very excited to use our network of broadcasters to improve audiences of top-class football content in Indonesia and Oceania."
In addition to Indonesia and New Zealand, MP & Silva has also won the exclusive distribution rights in American Samoa, Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Federated States of Micronesia, Nauru, Niue, Northern Mariana Islands, Palau, Papa New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Samoa, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.
