India international striker Sunil Chhetri is excited about his trials at Coventry City. The 24-year-old East Bengal forward, who has scored 15 goals in 34 appearances for his country, began his stint with the Sky Blues on Monday.
Chhetri wants to become only the second Indian-born Asian to make it in English football. The first was Baichung Bhutia who played for Bury between 1999 and 2002.
"I am really optimistic and I am looking forward to the trial. I just want to come here and give 100 per cent," Chhetri told Sky Sports News.
"Bhutia has been an inspiration both on and off the field. After him the flow of players has slowed down so hopefully more can start coming over to England. It would mean a lot to me and to players from India."
