Incoming NYRB defender Conde is best in MLS says Backe

New York Red Bulls head coach Hans Backe believes that potential signing Wilman Conde is the best central defender in Major League Soccer.

The 29-year old Colombian is on the verge of joining the Red Bulls from Mexican club Atlas and Backe feels he will bring plenty to the New York squad.

“Everything,’’ Backe told the NY Post. “I think absolutely (everything).

“Conde, I almost rate him as the best center-back in the league; physical, phenomenal left foot, good in the air, tackles, good understanding of the game, experienced.

“I think that is absolutely a player that has almost everything.’’
