Ince in talks with Santa Cruz over Blackburn stay

Paul Ince has already made contact with Blackburn Rovers striker Roque Santa Cruz.

The Sunday Express says Ince will be officially unveiled as Blackburn Rovers' new manager tomorrow - but the former Manchester United star has already begun his Ewood Park work.

Blackburn's new boss - the Premier League's first black manager - is anxious that Paraguay international Santa Cruz, who is currently playing in World Cup qualifiers in South America, remains at the club.

Manchester United, Hughes' new club Manchester City and Arsenal are all on the trail of the 26-year-old striker.

With that in mind, Ince has been in touch with the player's agent to spell out that Santa Cruz plays a vital part in his plans.
