For Blackburn Rovers players, Paul Ince struggled in comparison with Mark Hughes.
One Rovers player told The Sun: "It was a big step backwards after playing under Mark Hughes. Hughes was the first in and last to leave every day at training.
"Ince wasn't on the training pitch so much. He only seemed to show up when he wanted to play in the five-a-side.
"The players' heads were down. The club was in need of a clean-out of the coaching staff."
