Ince shocked over Premiership debut for Liverpool academy teammate Robinson

Tom Ince admits he was shocked by Liverpool Academy teammate Jack Robinson's promotion to the first team for the final game of the season.

Left-back Robinson became Liverpool's youngest ever debutant in the 0-0 draw with Hull City.

"It was really strange," Ince told Liverpoolfc.tv. "When we left for our game against Huddersfield on Saturday, we were all asking where Jack was. Then someone told us he was in the first-team squad and we were all made up for him.

"I originally thought they must have had a few injuries but on Sunday I was looking on Facebook and saw someone had posted a congratulations to Jack.

"I was amazed and hadn't had a clue that he had played. I put Match of the Day on and saw him come off the bench. It's a massive step - 16 years old and now the youngest player to have ever played for Liverpool.

"I think he deserves it because if you are good enough you are old enough. Hopefully in the years ahead he will continue to develop into the player we know he can be."
