Ince took charge at Ewood Park last week as he replaced former boss Mark Hughes, who moved to Manchester City at the beginning of June.
He is expected to hand a list of transfer targets to chairman John Williams, but he insists he will give his current squad the chance to impress before he decides upon the necessary changes.
"It's important for me to take stock of the squad when the players return for pre-season training on 7th July, and then we can go from there," Ince told the Lancashire Telegraph.
"Obviously, I'd like to bring in one or two new acquisitions because that would help to freshen things up, which I feel is important.
"I've been making plenty of phone calls and following up various leads but, at this moment in time, there's nothing concrete to report."
