Paul Ince admits he has ambitions beyond new club Blackburn Rovers.
"I really enjoyed my time at the San Siro and it's an ambition. But if England was to come along then . . . I captained my country so why not?
"But it's a long way down the line. I can't wait to get my teeth into it here - it's a great job."
Ince hopes becoming the top flight's first black boss will set the ball rolling.
He added: "It's a big deal.
"There should be more black players in management.
"Maybe the likes of Les Ferdinand and Sol Campbell will do so in future."
