Zlatan Ibrahimovic could soon join Manchester United according to recent reports.
The Telegraph is suggesting that the Swedish superstar, who leaves Paris Saint-Germain on a free this off-season, will be snapped up by United once they appoint Jose Mourinho as manager.
The scenario of Ibrahimovic linking up with Mourinho at Old Trafford has been spoken about for some weeks now and with the Portuguese expected to sign this week, the speculation has only grown legs.
It is understood that Ibrahimovic, 34, is keen to reunite with Mourinho having spent a successful season together at Inter Milan in 2008/09.
Mourinho is determined to land the former Ajax, Juventus, Barcelona and AC Milan ace and will order United to pay him a similar salary to what he has been on at PSG where he won the past four Ligue 1 titles.
Ibrahimovic has turned down a lucrative offer to join the growing number of European-based stars to join the Chinese Super League and is expected to forego any proposal made by MLS giants LA Galaxy so he can try his hand in England's top flight after winning premierships in four different countries.
Various publications are also indicating that Ibrahimovic will be named as Mourinho's assistant manager in what would be a sensational move by the 'Special One' who has offered Ryan Giggs the role but fears the Welshman will turn him down.
