Ikeme ready for Wolves keeper battle

Carl Ikeme refuses to accept defeat in the battle to be Wolves' top keeper this season.

Ikeme is ready to challenge Wayne Hennessey and new arrival Marcus Hahnemann for the first team spot, and Matt Murray when he finally makes his comeback from injury.

"I can't tell you who's going to win the battle at the moment, but from a personal point of view, I need to concentrate on staying fit," he said.

"The back's fine now. I had a scan on Monday just to make sure everything had healed because I had to pull out of the Port Vale game because I had an ache in my back.

"They compared both scans and they're absolutely clear now - all the cracks have gone, so I'm looking forward now to staying fit."
